Your First Visit.

There are many types of massage, so each experience varies. To learn more about techniques I use, look under Services for a comprehensive list.

1. Before Your Massage.

Once you arrive at Impression BodyWorks, we will take a few minutes for you to fill out a few client forms and I will ask you a few questions, such as the reason you are seeking massage therapy, any injuries or medical conditions you may have, and any other information that may help me better serve you.

2. Starting Your Massage.

We will continue into my massage room where a comfortable massage table dressed with a warming blanket and crisp clean sheets awaits. I will excuse myself and wait outside while you disrobe to your level of comfort.  You will then get on the table under the provided cover and relax, either face up or face down. I will give you a few minutes and then will knock on the door to ask if you are ready before entering the room. There will be relaxing music playing, unless you request otherwise, and the room will be quiet and tranquil, with no outside distractions.

3. During Your Massage.

Depending on your specific needs or requests, I will either perform a customized full-body massage (for general relaxation and stress reduction) or focus on the specific parts of your body that you have requested.  You will be draped at all times. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. A typical full body session includes your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck and shoulders. Oil or lotion is often used. All of my oils, lotions and creams are hypoallergenic and contain no additives.

4. After Your Massage.

When the massage is complete, I will leave the room so you can get dressed. Sit up slowly and, in the hours after your massage, drink plenty of water. If you wish, I can bring you a glass after you are dressed.

Helpful Hint:

Plan Ahead - It’s helpful to arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment. This will give you time to complete any paperwork and take a few minutes to relax and unwind.

Helpful Hint:

Sound Advice - Some people like to talk while they receive their massage, while others wish to relax quietly. Do as you prefer and I will conform with your preferences.

Helpful Hint:

Communicate - This massage is directed at your comfort and relaxation. If you have comments, questions or concerns about pressure, room temperature, room lighting, etc. let me know.

Helpful Hint:

Hydrate - Water flushes out the minerals that were released during your massage while rehydrating your muscles and reducing potential soreness.
